BAL Briefing: Rehabilitation Through The Arts

BAL BRIEFINGS are discussions with personalities and influencers from the theatre world and beyond, hosted by Break A Leg Productions Artistic Director Teri Black.

In this episode, Founder and Artistic Director Teri Black is pleased to speak with the Director of Operations at RTA (Rehabilitation Through The Arts), Charles Moore. RTA helps people in prison develop critical life skills through the arts, modeling an approach to the justice system based on human dignity rather than punishment.

Charles Moore is the first Rehabilitation Through The Arts (RTA) alumni to be hired to work full time for the organization. He has been involved in RTA since 2004. Charles holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Mercy College and a Master’s in Professional Studies from New York Theological Seminary (NYTS).

Currently, he serves as RTA’s Director of Operations and Alumni Coordinator. In addition, Charles has completed the needed paperwork and has been approved to go back into prison as an RTA volunteer, he works with RTA in 6 facilities.
