Our Mission: Getting New Plays On Their Feet
At Break A Leg Productions, we’re committed to helping playwrights ‘get a leg up’, so to speak, by literally putting new plays on their feet, often for the very first time as part of a variety of reading series. But these aren’t just any old readings. These are fully rehearsed and staged, often with costumes and props, giving playwrights and audiences the opportunity to see new works as they might be presented in full production. Break A Leg follows every performance with a talk back involving playwrights and other invited guests. BAL also presents full productions.

Effective September 26, 2018, Break A Leg changed our policy regarding play submissions as follows:
Break A Leg Productions is accepting play synopses and character breakdowns ONLY for a 6 month period, January 1st through June 30th. If we are interested in receiving the full script we will follow up directly.

We Accept One Act and Full Length Plays:
- Comedies (all subjects)
- Science-themed comedy or drama
- Historically-based or Socially Critical comedy or drama
- Criminal Justice-themed comedy or drama
Highly recommended for top consideration:
- Cast of no more than 8 people
- One Set
- Variety of age ranges
- Multi cultural/multi-racial characters
