Thanks so much for your interest in submitting a play to Break A Leg Productions. We’re committed to giving unpublished works a platform for development and we welcome submissions for consideration for both staged readings and possible full productions.
Please read carefully. Effective September 26, 2018, Break A Leg changed our policy regarding play submissions as follows:
Break A Leg Productions will be accepting play synopses and character breakdowns ONLY, together in a single PDF or Word file for a 6 month period annually, January 1st through June 30th.
If we are interested in receiving the full script we will follow up directly.
**As of now, submissions will remain closed entirely until January 1, 2019.**
Please check back as of January 1, 2019 to upload your play synopsis and character breakdown together in a single PDF or Word file directly through this website.
Submissions received during the blackout period will not be considered.
The following are the guidelines for consideration:
Send: full scripts along with a character breakdown and plot synopsis. We Accept One Act and Full Length Plays:
- Comedies (all subjects)
- Science-themed comedy or drama
- Historically-based or Socially Critical comedy or drama
- Criminal Justice themed comedy or drama
Highly recommended for top consideration:
- Cast of no more than 8 people
- One set
- Variety of age ranges
- Multi-cultural/multi-racial characters
PLEASE NOTE: Plays submitted while submissions are suspended will NOT be considered.
